The EyeHarp is a gaze-controlled or head-controlled digital musical instrument. It allows people with physical disabilities to learn and to play music without barriers. Designed with musicality in mind, the EyeHarp offers the same expressive qualities as any traditional instrument.

The EyeHarp is the life project of Zacharias Vamvakousis, researcher at the Music and Machine Learning Lab, Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. It began as part of his Master’s and PhD thesis. Zacharias set out to create a solution for his friend, who, after a motorcycle accident, could no longer play the available musical instruments.

Together with Zacharias, our team and users work side by side in order to constantly improve the EyeHarp.

To support the EyeHarp, please consider donating to the EyeHarp Project. With your support we could continue to work and develop the EyeHarp.

The EyeHarp is free and open source. We believe that assistive technology should be accessible to everyone. Cost, too, should not be an obstacle for those who need it.

Educational outreach is important to us. We provide EyeHarp classes at partner organizations
The MUSA Project offers a group of new students to learn music and to perform with the EyeHarp together with professional musicians.  The EyeHarp is a great tool for music teachers and music therapists.

You cab Contact with Eyeharp project to become our partner and introduce the EyeHarp to your institution.

An award winning instrument, the EyeHarp received awards from SmartCat Challenge, Fundación Caser, and La Caixa Obre Social.
