Public Group
active 3 days, 12 hours agoDo you have a collaborative playlist that others can join and add their music to? Feel free to add it here!
So here is how it works. Once you join the group, head over to the “forum” tab at the top. There you can make your own thread in the forum for your own playlist.
Rules:
Your playlist HAS to be a collaborative playlist – you can do so by right clicking your playlist and clicking “collaborative playlist” – once you do this people should be able to add to it simply by following it.
A general guideline is to keep the submissions to 3 submissions at a time. That means that you have to submit 3 submissions and no more, or wait until others submit.
Types of collaborative playlists:
Inbox playlist: this is a playlist people submit their music to that gets used for consideration to a users other playlists – this takes out the need for people to inbox the individual on the site and also allows them some additional exposure on the inbox playlist before they get added to the other playlists. These users normally get removed from this playlist after they have been added to other playlists. The only issue with this is the users have to know what other playlists the artist runs to know what playlists they may or may not have been added to.
Regular playlist: this is a playlist where people can simply add their music to it and it is up to the music playlist curator to decide if they stay or not. These can rack up the followers pretty quickly depending on the genre – and it is recommended to keep the genres pretty open ended or you will spend a lot of time weeding through them to remove songs that don’t fit.
Timed playlist: this is a playlist that is refreshed periodically – sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly, sometimes yearly. Basically people can add as many songs as they want to them but after a time all the songs get wiped – or they get wiped after a certain duration of them being on the playlist to allow for new submissions to be on. These can also generate a lot of followers but those followers may not stay if they realize their songs won’t be on forever. On the other hand, if they know it will be refreshed say every month they can strategically post their songs quickly so that their songs are at the top and get viewed more.
Consider which one works best for you and submit them! Please submit them via the “forum” section and not the “home” updates section – when you make a post in the forum it will show up in the updates section automatically, but if you only do it in the updates section then it will only show up there and will quickly get buried under all the other notifications and eventually never be seen.
If you want to gain followers to your playlists quickly and gain some hype and a name for yourself as a playlist curator collaborative playlists are the way to go though!
