The Twiolins are the pioneers of a new wave of “progressive classical music” bringing fresh excitement to concert halls around the world! Rich harmonies, broad melodic lines and eccentric, pulsating rhythms are their music’s hallmarks, merging classical, avant-garde, minimalism and art-pop into a bold, new sonic universe.
Hailing from Mannheim, brother and sister violin duo Marie-Luise and Christoph Dingler have performed together since they were children. In the years since their debut, they have won numerous awards and have performed over a thousand concerts around the world. In 2009, they launched the Progressive Classical Music Award, a unique composition competition to enrich and broaden the repertoire for violin duo. Now with more than 500 participants from 50 countries, an exciting and colourful catalogue of new works is being created by many of the greatest composers of our generation. Every three years, the winning competition are selected for performance and published on recordings, like the album “Virtuoso”, “Sunfire” and “Secret Places.”
