Say What You Mean

25 June, 2021 in

My new single “Say What You Mean” featuring vocalist Lucy Branch, picks up where my last EP left off, expanding on the atmospheric and sun-kissed guitar grooves while steering up a more pop-centric direction. With the warmest days of the year knocking on our collective doorsteps, listeners can enjoy this song for what it is: an overt stab at feel-good summer pop that pays dividends in the department of replay-ready and playlist-friendly California jams.

Serenity

Track 2 off my debut ambient EP A Trance By The Sea – “Serenity” is a gentle but inventing tune that really captures the recording environment I was in while creating the song. The spacious mixing approach, tropical-leaning instrumentation and sweeping reverbs are all aesthetic qualities that speak to my wide-spanning musical influences. While producing this album, my goal was to transport listeners to this coastal location with very minimal instrumentation: crystalline guitars overlaid with continuous cymbal-ic waves in the background.

Casa

Track 3 off my debut ambient EP A Trance By The Sea – “Casa” is one my dearest songs that pays homage to the house it was recorded in named La Casa Grande in my hometown of Goleta, California, just north of Santa Barbara.
